Welcome to Lover’s Loom
May You Find the Story Your Heart has been Waiting For!

Welcome to Lover’s Loom
This is a cosy corner of the Cape Town coastline where every story is a reminder that love is still the greatest adventure of all.
Founded by a lifelong storyteller and proud Cape Town local Linnaea Burger, Lover’s Loom is the heart-project of a woman who has spent her life teaching, inspiring, and believing fiercely in the power of connection. With decades of life experience, and a heart full of stories, she knows how deeply love and community shape who we are.
From an early age, she was writing and editing pieces wherever she could, letting words become both her comfort and her calling. Today, she uses her books to inspire others to dream again – about love, hope, and the beautiful journeys that await those brave enough to open their hearts.
Welcome – may you find the story your heart has been waiting for.
A Life Shaped by Stories, Movement, and Heart
Born and raised in East London in a lively home of four daughters, Linnaea Burger grew up between bookshelves and sports fields – threads that later wove into both her studies in Human Movement Science and English at Stellenbosch University and her lifelong love for storytelling.
Her journey took her across South Africa as she raised four sons, supported a medical career, endured profound loss, and found renewal in teaching, creativity, and community life.
Today, with painting on her walls, poetry in her notebooks, and her beloved dog Bonnie at her feet, she writes with the depth of a life richly lived – full of humour, resilience, and a quiet, enduring grace.

A Look at Love
The story follows Charleen, a young Coloured woman from a northern Namibia Wharf who rises above hardship through education and dance, only to be drawn into a complex love that challenges her ideas of forgiveness, class, and belonging.
The story explores themes of identity, trauma, and redemption with a lyrical South African voice. Early readers have responded warmly to its emotional depth and vivid local settings.
